Inter-textile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2006, scheduled for October 25-28 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, is set to be one of the most dynamic and varied trade fairs for businesses interested in the accessories sector, the organisers Messers Frankfurt said here on Wednesday.
The accessories companies, especially brand named ones are taking part in this year's event in a bid to raise their profiles and meet buyers, the organisers claimed. Accessories companies such as Swarovski, Coats China and Bemis are all taking part in the 2006 show together with long-term exhibitors such as Union Knopf Ltd and RiRi SA.
George Nussdorfer, Vice President Operations, Swarovski, China says they attend Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics because: "We believe this trade fair to be the most representative fabric fair for the textile and garment industry in China. It has large exposure to trade people and offers Swarovski the right platform to build upon our brand awareness and image in the textile and garment industry especially amongst manufacturers."
Swarovski's offerings feature colourful crystal components that are used in the fashion industry on items such as buttons, sew-on and hotfix stones and crystal transfers.
Coats China, another exhibitor at this year's trade fair, are the world's largest sewing thread makers and the world's second largest zip maker. Coats' vast and varied product range includes solutions for jeans, trainers, automotive airbags and even bullet-proof vests.
Bemis are a first time exhibitor at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics. They are a major manufacturer of thermoplastic adhesives, coatings, tapes and speciality film products that serve various markets throughout the world.
Katy Lam, Director of Trade Fairs, Messers Frankfurt Hong Kong, says: "Accessories are one of the most important sectors in the apparel textile industry. They are not just a basic item anymore. They can change the look and feel of products and are becoming increasingly trendy. Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics is one of the leading and most varied textile fairs in Asia and is the perfect place to showcase accessories products as well as textiles."
Designed by Nelly Rodi Agency, four of the seven halls at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will feature forums, forecasted by Interstoff Asia Directions Committee and Fabrics China, illustrating the colours, shapes, textures and patterns that will dominate next season's runways and wardrobe. Fabrics China predicts apparel trends in Mainland China and new to this year's fair, they will also be designing a forum displaying the newest and trendiest accessories in Hall W5.
Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will be held from October 25-28, 2006 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre and is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.
