New York Board of Trade benchmark coffee futures climbed more than 3 percent to a six-day peak Wednesday, felled by speculative buying and short-covering, traders said.
At 9:40 am EDT (1340 GMT), the NYBOT's December arabica contract was trading up 2.70 cents, or 2.5 percent, at $1.0960 a lb., after touching an intraday peak of $1.1050 just minutes before.
