Officials of the rain emergency centre flayed the indifferent attitude of the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) as it has deliberately stopped the electricity supply to Clifton area on Friday.
Officials told Business Recorder several complaints, particularly by women, had been lodged with them against the KESC Clifton, which deliberately stopped power supply to Clifton area on the pretext that rainwater had flooded its office in the area.
Officials said women also lodged complaints against the KESC's management, who misbehaved with them when they intended to lodge complaints.
"If we were informed about the location of KESC offices, which have been inundated by rainwater, we will certainly go and drain it out without any delay, but they (KESC management) neither started electricity supply to the area nor told us its location," officials elaborated.
Regarding centre's relief activities, they said it had been in close contacts with all 18 towns to carry out relief activities during rains, besides responding to public complaints on civic problems.
About general complaints lodged at the centre, they said most of the complaints were about the stagnant rainwater accumulated in various areas of the metropolis and public wanted officials to drain it out forthwith.
