Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri has made it clear that the country has not yet decided to send peacekeeping force to Lebanon. This he stated while talking to journalists in a function here on Saturday.
Further speaking about sending of force to Lebanon the foreign minister averred that after watching the internal situation of Lebanon and looking at Security Council Resolution, Pakistan will make a decision of sending peacekeeping force. He said the decision to send troops was yet immature.
Kasuri dwelling on Pakistan-India relations stated that their being positive was in the interest of both the nations. He emphasised that process of promotion of peace between two neighbourly countries must continue unabated.
Speaking about recent developments in Indo-Pak relation, the foreign minister said that lull in it had come because of India and now the ball was in Indian court.
Kasuri made it unequivocally clear that war was not in the interest of both the nations. He said India was well aware of the fact that both the countries were atomic powers and moving towards conflict situation was not a solution to issues here.
The foreign minister speaking about solution of issues between both countries in subcontinent including Kashmir made it clear that negotiations and dialogue were the only solution to that.
Former federal minister Sartaj Aziz, Begum Abida Hussain, former governor Shahid Hamid in the function were of the consensus on the point that march towards peace through dialogue in the region was necessary and there was no alternative to that.
