The Landhi Industrial Area and its adjoining industrial areas house some of the largest manufacturing concerns in Pakistan. Some of these are: Indus Motors, Al-Karam Textiles, Gul Ahmed Textiles, Pakistan Machine Tool Factory, Steel Mills and Port Qasim.
Although the traffic jams at Quaidabad have become a routine with inundated roads for the past few months but the situation has become worst due to rain nowadays, as people remain stuck in the traffic jams for many hours.
As a result large numbers of people move to the area in the morning and return in the evening towards the city. A large number of raw materials and manufactured goods are also transported to and from this area. Furthermore, it is also a necessity for the industrialists to bring a large number of foreign buyers to visit their factories in the interest of purchasing the end products.
With such heavy movement of people, the traffic condition remains constantly chaotic. The roads are almost jammed and above all excavation for the construction of Quaidabad flyover bridge, besides the road at Quaidabad significantly enhanced the problems and inevitably traffic become uncontrolled which result in numerous accidents, in some cases fatal ones. Not only does this uncontrolled traffic poses a serious danger to human like, but also creates an extremely bad impression of Pakistan on the foreign buyers that visit our area.
It is requested that serious efforts may be initiated at your end to ensure that the traffic plying in this area be disciplined to the extent that it does not pose any danger to human life, create a negative impression on the visiting foreigners, and hinder the movement of raw materials and goods. I would like to extend all possible help in this regard if you so decide to make effort for a more controlled level of traffic movement in our area.
