Children dropout before completing their primary, middle and Matric education has fallen down considerably in Punjab province since the Punjab government has taken some far-reaching steps like grant of monthly scholarships for all girls-students at the rate of Rs 200 per month, supply of free books and free education up to SSC level.
Earlier Pakistan has the highest dropout rate in the world. Every year almost six million children dropout before completing their primary education. Official sources said that monthly stipend is being paid to 3,50,000 girls-students through money order at their door step to eliminate the complaint of non-payment of stipend to the students. City District Government has also announced to grant stipend of Rs 100 per month to girl-students because Multan district was not included in the scheme.
In past, unfortunately the educational sector has been ignored in Pakistan but the present government is taking several initiatives to change the educational scenario in Pakistan and to improve the educational standard in Pakistan. We have also revised the curriculum and have added new things in the newly revised curriculum. In the newly revised curriculum from class six computers science will be taught to the students, official sources said.
We have low standard school in rural areas with lack of basic facilities which needed to be improved at grass root level.
Now government is focussing on primary and secondary education in order to provide a strong base to the students. The education budget is being increased to provide quality education to the masses.
