On the historic occasion of the inauguration of Sui gas supply project to Murree I feel immense pleasure to extend my heartiest felicitations to the work-force and management of the SNGPL who accomplished this challenging task within a short span of time by putting in sustained hard work.
Now, with the provision of natural gas to Murree Hills, on the one hand the inhabitants will avail the benefit of much cheaper and environment friendly fuel for domestic and commercial use and on the other hand it would save these beautiful hills from deforestation.
This project will contribute directly for preservation of scenic environment of the Murree hill-tracts, generating economic activity and upgrading the living standards of the people of the area.
Nature has blessed our coun-try with enormous natural resources in the form of human capital, mineral wealth, rivers and vast fertile land. Gas is one of the precious gifts of nature which meets 50% energy needs of our country being consumed by the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors. It is a driving force for speedy growth of our economy.
I hope that provision of natural gas to the Murree Hills will help promote trade and economic activity in the area and will generate employment opportunities for our jobless youth.
I wish SNGPL success in their endeavours to undertake such challenging task and serving the nation with devotion and dedication. May Allah Almighty Be our Protector and Guide. Ameen!
