The government will honour awards to 35 educationists and students in recognition of their services/contributions in education sector, Business Recorder learnt on Monday.
A notification by the Ministry of Education says that the government has approved a list of recipients including professors and students qualifying from the provinces, Fata and Azad Kashmir.
These awards included Izaz-i-Kamal, Izaz-i-Fazeelat and Izaz-i-Sabqat will be given by the Minister for Education at National Library on September 12. Izaz-i-Kamal will be awarded to Dr Shazia Anjum, Assistant Professor of University of Karachi; whereas Izaz-i-Fazeelat for their quality research work will be given to Dr Muhammad Sharif, Associate Professor of University of the Punjab, Lahore; Dr Tasneem G Kazi, Professor, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, and Professor Abdur Rauf Khan, Director, Directorate of Education, Fata, Peshawar.
Similarly, for the promotion of female education in rural areas, the award will be given to Khalida Adeeb Khanam, Principal, GECT (F), Jamrud Khyber Agency, Fata.
Students, who have been nominated for the award of Izaz-i-Sabqat from Punjab included, Saad Hasan Aslam of Government College, Lahore.
Bushra Bashir of Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Ammarah Ubaid of Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi. Khuram Shahzad, Misali Zakariya Higher Secondary School, Pir Jiahanian, Muzaffargarh, Ehtasham Aziz, Science Higher Secondary school, Muzaffargarh.
Rabia Shaikh, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Mehwish Mughal, University of Karachi, and Muhammad Immad Uddin, University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, have been selected from Sindh.
Those who have been selected from NWFP are Sidra Baig and Saima Latif of Gomal University, D I Khan, Ayesha Abrar, University of Peshawar, Mohammad Arif Khan, NWFP University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar, Obaidullah, Polytechnic Gandhara College of Technology, Chakdara, Dir, Azhar Ali, Hera School & College, Kabal, Swat and Shehryar Masood Khan Khattak, Cadet College, Kohat, whereas Muhammad Arif Khan and Fareed Khan of Balochistan Residential College Loralai, Abdul Ghafar of Cadet College, Mastung.
Those selected from AJK are Adeel Mumtaz of Cadet College Pillandri, Samaira Aziz and Nahida Khan of University of AJK, Muzaffarabad, and Naveed Hussain of Govt Inter College Sokasan.
The students of Fata included Lala Rukh Nazir of Public School & College, Gilgit, Najma of Malakand University, Noman Hameed Afridi of Peshawar University and Hayat Muhammad Khan, NWFP University of Engineering and Technology.
