The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) has to date disbursed two billion rupees in earthquake-affected areas of Northwest Frontier Province and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, according to a news statement issued here Tuesday.
In NWFP alone PPAF has recently disbursed Rs 139 million to more than 1800 earthquake victims in four union councils of Balakot, ie, Garlat, Ghanool, Satbani and Kewai. Additionally, the PPAF has approved Rs 6.5 million as immediate relief assistance for flood/land slide-affected areas of these four union councils.
PPAF's rehabilitation and reconstruction activities are financed by the World Bank, International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) and KfW (German agency for financial co-operation) under agreements with the government of Pakistan.-PR
