State Minister for Youth Affairs Ghulam Bibi Bharwana has said that the government will set up youth centres at district and Tehsil level to impart technical education to the youth.
Addressing cheque distribution ceremony at government vocational institute Jhang, the minister said government was keen that talented young people must acquire technical education, which would help them to earn respectable livelihood. She said that the first youth centre under the project would be set up in Jhang district.
The minister said that government was committed to overcome the problem of unemployment by providing technical education to people, besides other measures for the purpose.
Bibi Bharwana attributed the credit to President Pervez Musharraf for taking solid steps in this regard. Later, the minister distributed cheques of Rs 5,000 each among those students who have completed the technical education diploma from this institution.
Chairman District Zakat and Ushr Committee AD Khan Sial and Muhammad Umer Khan, Chairman Board of Management of the institute also addressed the ceremony.
