David Borja along with FIFA's goal project development officer Manilal Fernando will be having important meetings with the PFF President, Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat and Secretary Muhammad Arshad Khan Lodhi, a spokesman of the PFF said here on Thursday. These meetings will be held on Friday, in Islamabad, he added.
The purpose of visit of David and Manilal was to discuss and finalisation of the Goal Project-II and name of the city, decide the procedure for awarding of consultant's contract and to formulate tender procedure for the contract, discuss about Goal Project-I and the utilisation of the facilities, inspect the earthquake projects in Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Abbottabad and the contracts, to discuss FIFA President Sepp Blatter's visit to Pakistan next month to inaugurate FIFA football House. " FIFA official Manilal has rated Lahore's FIFA Football House among best in the world", the spokesman said.
Originally, the Goal Project-I was to be constructed in Karachi but non-availability of land forced PFF to convince the FIFA, AFC to shift the project to Lahore. But now Karachi was well-poised to get the Goal Project-II after Sindh Chief Minister, Dr Ghulam Arbab Rahim had agreed to allot a ten acre land in Trans Lyari Park famous as soccer bowl of the country, the spokesman said.
