After introduction of International Mobile Equipment Identification (IMEI), about 1,770 mobile phones have been blocked, said Zonal Director PTA Karachi Rizwan Ahmed on Friday.
Speaking in a PTV programme, he expressed the hope that system would help decrease incidents of snatching mobile phones. In order to effectively cope with the incidents of mobile phone theft and snatching, IMEI system to block stolen/snatched mobile phones was launched from September 30.
