The Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has installed Digital Speed Limit Panels on Faisalabad roads in the first phase in collaboration with the Pakistan State Oil to make the city roads more safe and beautiful.
While in the 2nd phase all major roads within the vicinity of Faisalabad City would be covered with all required signs, said CPLC Chairman Saqib Shahzad here on Friday. He said that the PSO with its full determination for the development of the country was providing complete funding for the successful completion of the two-phase project.
He said the CPLC traffic, under supervision of its Chairman General Abdul Qayyum (Retd) had taken various important tasks, such as launching traffic education campaigns, organising traffic education workshops for teachers and students, holding of traffic weeks and seminars in Faisalabad. It has contributed a lot in eliminating accidents on city roads and saving of time by providing necessary information on these informatory signs.
Saqib Shahzad said that the CPLC had already installed a number of video cameras at various vital points of the city, including Chowk Clock Tower and Dee Ground, Peoples Colony, to check the criminals' activities. He said the scope of installing video cameras was being enlarged and the similar cameras would shortly be installed on all city junction-roads for surveillance, which could cover a distance of 30 kilometres.
