Juma-tul-Wida and Youm Al Quds was observed in Karachi with religious zeal and fervour. After Friday prayers processions were taken out from different mosques which terminated at Regal chowk.
The main procession was taken out from Masjid Noor-e-Iman, Nazimabad that after passing through main roads in Nazimabad, M.A. Jinnah road and Saddar reached at Regal chowk. Speakers at the main congregation criticised American policy towards Muslims and demanded change in it.
They said peace in the world would come if the Middle East situation were permitted to settle down. It can happen if the USA withdraws itself from the region and left it to the people to settle their issues. They said living with Zionists with active exploitation by the USA would never be possible. "Let there be free dialogue between the trio, Israel-Hizbullah-Palestinians, to reach a settlement," they proposed.
Maulana Yousuf Hussain, in his remarks, condemned American policies and said the American involvement in the Middle East would never allow peace to come back in the region. He said, once Americans leave the region normalcy would return to the Middle Eastern region.
Imam Khumani of Iran had designated last Friday of Ramazan as Youm Al Quds some twenty-five years ago. The entire Muslim world, excepting a few countries that have ideological differences with Imam Khumani and the system of Iranian governance, observe Youm Al Quds to remind the world about the unlawful occupation of Palestinian territories by Israel and its atrocities against the Palestinian people.
Speakers at the Regal chowk meeting pledged to continue their struggle till the liberation of Palestinian lands, recognition of and settlement with Hamas on issues of governance, recognition of Hizbullah as the true representatives of the people of Palestine and Lebanon. The speakers condemned the USA for it's uncalled for support to the 'killers of humanity' in the region.
On the occasion, tight security was maintained at mosques to check untoward incident. Police and Rangers patrolled all sensitive spots and checked all unauthorised gatherings throughout the day.
