An ex-expatriate Pakistani, Qaim Shah Bukhari, has accused NWFP Minister for Forests & Environment, Shahraz Khan, of illegally transferring his (Qaim's) 248 kanal land to his brother, Dr Irshad Ali. Addressing a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Friday.
He said that he purchased the agriculture farm situated on Dalazak Road in village Fitu Abdurahima during his 25-year stay in Libya. The property, he said, is still in his possession.
"But, when I was in prison in a maliciously made-up case, Masood Shah, Flight Lieutenant Pakistan Air Force, Aminullah Shah (teacher), Tehseenullahh Shah (teacher) and Rahat Ali Shah of air force son of Rafiullah Shah along with provincial minister and his brother Irshad Ali Khan hatched a conspiracy to occupy my property."
The property, carrying Khasra Nos 1052, 1053, 1054, 1055, and 1056 is agriculture land cultivated by his peasant, Mohammad Rafique son of Sahar Gul. But, for the last one week, the provincial minister and his Qabza group have threatened the peasant to hand over the possession of the land to them, otherwise he (Rafique) would be killed.
He said that the peasant has moved civil court against Irshad Ali Khan son of Habib Bahar Khan resident of Batkhela, Malakand Agency, and Aminullah son of Rafiullah in which the court of Civil Judge Mohammad Hassan Mohmand has granted status quo and issued stay order till October 28. The copy of the status quo and stay orders have been provided to Police Station Chamkani and Police Check Post, Shahpur.
Bukhari alleged that despite status quo and stay granted by the court, Minister Shah Raz Khan along with his five gunmen in company of the police personnel from Police Post Shahpur "made an attempt to forcibly occupy my land through evacuating the peasant". The attempt, he said, was foiled by local residents and other peasants. The provincial minister, he alleged, had threatened the peasant to vacate the land before Saturday 9:00 pm.
Bukhari said: "The provincial minister is also using police against me through registering fake, malicious and baseless cases through Chamkani Police that I have stolen barbed wire of the land irrespective of the fact that the complainants have no property in the area."
He demanded of President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Chief Minister Akram Durrani, Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai, Chief Justice Peshawar High Court and Inspector-General of Police to provide security to his life and property.
