The religious leaders, 'Ulema and 'muftis' of NWFP have announced to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday, and pamphlets have been distributed among the people in this respect.
A meeting of eminent religious leaders of Jahangira, Nowshera and Peshawar was held under 'grand mufti' Abdul Aziz in Madrissa Taleem-ul-Quran in Jahangira on Saturday. A large number of people also attended the meeting.
Giving details of the meeting, Abdul Aziz said that all 'Ulema' of NWFP have decided unanimously that Eid will be celebrated on Monday as the faithful from NWFP will be completing 29 fasts on Sunday. He appealed to the people to avoid aerial firing on Eid night as it poses serious risk to life. Well to do people should help generously the needy persons in their mohalla and street. As per decision of the 'Ulema', the Fitrana has been fixed at Rs 30 per individual.
