Burundi's Arabica coffee sold at firmer prices this week following higher future prices in New York, a coffee board official said on Friday.
"Traders offered higher prices as world prices are expected to rise in coming months," Jean Baptiste Manirakiza, head of the economics department at Office du Cafe du Burundi (OCIBU), told Reuters. OCIBU said it sold 540 tonnes of the 684 offered at Wednesday's auction, and earned an estimated $1.15 million compared with $1.37 the previous week.
