TOKYO: Japanese shares gained 2.04 percent on Thursday after the eurozone sealed a basic deal to overcome its debt crisis following marathon in Brussels.
The Nikkei index of the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 178.07 points to close at 8,926.54. The Topix index of all first section shares added 16.31 points or 2.18 percent to 762.79.
