The Punjab government has approved a grand plan for the provision of advanced educational facilities in all the rural and urban areas of both neighbouring Sialkot and Narowal districts by spending billions of rupees on priority basis.
The District Co-ordination Officer, Sialkot Major Rizwan Ullah Baig (retd) told the newsmen, here on Sunday a block of additional classrooms for the MA classes, hostel for 60 students and laboratories would be constructed at the Government Post Graduate College for Women, Daska, with total cost of Rs 19.528 million, besides, upgrading the Government Boys Inter College Sambrial to degree level at a cost of Rs 20.328 million. The building of the Government Boys Degree College Chawinda-Pasrur would be constructed at a cost of Rs 6.756 million.
He said the Government Inter College for Girls Baddo Malhi - Narowal would be upgraded to degree level with total cost of Rs 42.585 million, besides, up gradation of Government Inter College for Boys Zafarwal - Narowal to degree level with estimated cost of Rs 38.925 million.
DCO said that positive measures taken by the government would be helpful in promotion of education and enhancing the literacy rate in both the districts.
He said the government has also released a grant of Rs 160 million for the early establishment of Special Training School at Pasrur for providing the advanced educational facilities to the special children of the region. He said the government has released a special grant of Rs 15.8 million for the up gradation of Government Girls Elementary School Pasrur to high level for providing the better and advanced educational facilities to the local students at their doorsteps.
