An unidentified robber was killed in an encounter near Chowk Sarwar Shaheed on late Monday, however another five robbers managed to run away leaving the body of their accomplice.
District Police Officer (DPO) Muzaffargarh Rai Tahir said, "we have received a message from a citizen Allah Ditta Baloch that some robbers were plotting to loot the people on Rangpur Road in Sarwar Shaheed.
When Police reached there they ran away towards the sand dunes. Police chased them. They opened fires at Police party to prevent it from further movement. Police retaliated, resultantly one of them died on the spot. His body was preserved in hospital after autopsy."
