In a joint press statement on Wednesday Senator and Political Secretary to the Chief Minister of Sindh Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi and the newly appointed adviser Kishan Chand Parwani have defended appointment of advisers and expansion in the Sindh Cabinet and termed it as strictly in conformity with the provisions of the Constitutions.
The expansion in the Sindh Cabinet and appointment of advisers has attracted criticism and the parties in the opposition have viewed it as extra burden on the provincial exchequer.
They have quoted from the Public Accounts Committee's remarks regarding "overstaffing in the federal cabinet" and demanded an end to such expansions. The inference that is to be drawn by other provinces is clear.
Qureshi and Parwani have criticised former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan Sajjad Ali Shah for his opinion and statement on the expansion of the Sindh Cabinet and said that he had plenty of time to waste.
They said that Justice Shah had been participating in conspiracies against government in the past and was in the habit of indulging into such trivialities too frequently.
By issuing statement against the Sindh Government, Justice Shah was strengthening those forces which were there to weaken Pakistan, its institutions and the process of democracy that is going on smoothly in the province.
