Flight PK 304 K on 21st October 2006 turned into a plight. It got delayed by a couple of hours. Eventually to the respite of vexed passengers who were keeping fast and majority of them were returning from visiting the Holy Places the "Phoenix" appeared on the horizon for its onward journey to destination.
There was yet another arrow in the quivers of the flag carrier hospitality when at the time of breaking fast, while boxes were doled out to the beleaguered passengers, like croupiers. The passenger on my left complained to the flight attendant that the contents of the box stink especially an emaciated piece a look alike leg of an under fed chicken.
I had yet to open to see may jack in the box. The thing called a chicken leg indeed was a stark reminder of once a healthy creature turned into a fossil. The little cake also stood out showing the fatigue of enduring the test of its shell life.
The banana held some promise to satiate the growing stomach but it also desap-pointed my prying eyes. It had imploded itself with in its skin. Who needs a tooth paste before its time.
The white box also had within its bowels its offspring, a little box. I dared sneaked into it and two "gulab Jamans" (Sweet), when touched begged not to be disturbed.
Finally the wistful eyes squinted for the appearance of tea trolley. It turned out to be as elusive as the Eid Chand:. There was neither sympathy nor tea.
Was it a flight of the phoenix, though the passengers were not perched on the wings bout within the air frame luckily. It is not only that great people fly by P.I.A. but the excited ones are also interested in endurance test.
