Punjab Minister for Revenue and Relief, Gul Hameed Khan Rokhari has said that Government has declared 21 villages as calamity affected areas which were badly hit by flood-2006.
He said that the whole of the development cess, Local Rate and Agriculture Income Tax relating to the Kharif-2006, has been remitted and recovery of agriculture loans already granted to the farmers has also been deferred. He said this, while talking to different people in his office here Thursday.
Gul Hameed further said that after receiving the detailed survey report from DCO Bhakhar, 21 villages of the said district have been declared as calamity affected.
The revenue estates which had been declared as calamity affected were Basti Pahor, Rehmanwali, Sohla, Basti Noor Khan, Bakharewali, Gashori, Jhok Ghila Ram, Gujja, Jandhirabad, Dhas Sial, Fateh Jamali, Khai Jamali, Basti Mian Khan, Basti Muhammad Bhathi and Saggu Shumali Daggar, Saggu Janubi, Gidranwali, Jhooke Yaran, Mullana Nasheb, Bhulla and Khawar Khurd of Tehsil Kallurkot.
The Minister said that Relief and Crisis Management has issued notification in this regard. He further said that as soon as survey reports from other districts would reach, the same relief package would also be announced for them. He assured that government would utilise all resources for the rehabilitation of the farmer community.
