Sindh Agriculture Extension Department has advised the growers to sow recommended varieties of wheat crop during current Rabi season in order to get maximum yields.
The recommended wheat varieties are Mehran-89, Abadgar-93, Moomal-2002, Sarsabz, TD-1, Bhitai, Marvi-2000, TJ-83, Anmol-91, Imdad-2002, SKD-1, Sasui and Kiran, the spokesman of the department informed here on Tuesday.
The spokesman informed that the district officers of Agriculture Extension have been asked to encourage and motivate the growers of their area to cultivate approved varieties and ensure that unapproved varieties are not grown.
If any seed dealers or company is found engaged in selling of seed of unapproved varieties, the officers should informed the authorities of Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department for necessary action, the spokesman advised.
