Civil society organisations on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration against last week's Bajaur bombing of a seminary that killed more then 80 students. A large number of representatives of different civil society organisations participated in the demonstration that was held in front of the Press Club office in Islamabad.
The protesters were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans including "Pakistani Army kills its own people" and "the killing of innocent people is the human rights violation". Heavy security arrangements were made to avert any untoward incident on the occasion. However, the demonstrators remained peaceful till the end. The demonstrators said that 83 persons, mostly Madressah students and teachers, were wrongly killed in the attack.
