At least four people including two women were killed and 10 others were critically injured when a roof of a house caved in due to rain located at Kohat Road, here on Saturday.
As per Hayat Khan, a resident of Ghari Qamar Din some guests had come for the marriage ceremony of his son who stayed at his home, however, he added at 3:00am between the night of Friday and Saturday, the roof of his house suddenly collapsed.
He said after the one and half hour of hectic efforts by his neighbours, they succeed in retrieving the trapped people but unfortunately four people including Hameeda 80, Razia 36, Salam 6 and Gul Nabi 9 succumbed to the injuries while 10 people were severely injured.
He informed the injured were rushed to the nearby hospital, where two person are said to be in a critical condition. It is to be mentioned here that the night-long rainfall had deteriorated the situation for the poor people, especially for those who were slum dwellers.
