Wheat futures on the Chicago Board of Trade extended declines near midday on Thursday as sell-stops were triggered, sending spot December to a six-week low, traders said.
Calyon Financial sold 300 to 400 contracts on stops, they said. As of 12:02 pm CST (1802 GMT), CBOT December wheat was down 11-1/2 cents at $4.70 a bushel after dipping to $4.66-1/4, a six-week low. Kansas City December wheat was down 9-3/4 cents at $5.12 and Minneapolis December spring wheat was down 7-1/2 at $4.92.
