Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Deputy Secretary General and Jamaat-i-Islami Naib Amir Liaquat Baloch has rejected government invitation for dialogue on new Women Protection Bill (WPB) tabled by Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in the National Assembly.
He announced this during his telephonic news conference at Okara Press Club on Saturday. He said that the MMA would not hold any talks with the government because it lost it trust, adding that the tabling of news bill by Chaudhry Shujaat was support of the MMA stand as the first bill was against Holy Quran and Sunnah.
Liaquat Baloch claimed that the government never fulfilled its promises with the MMA so they decided not to hold talks with the government on any issue.
To a question, he made it clear that their resignations would be against the Women Protection Bill and removal of President Pervez Musharraf's military government and hoped that their resignation become basic reason for ending army interference from the country's politics.
He said that the MMA has taken final decision about collective resignations and detail would be finalised in the Parliamentary Party meeting to be held on December 7.
Liaquat Baloch went on to say that Pakistan Peoples Party has been standing with the government during the opposition whole struggle, adding the PPP attached their expectations with the US to become in power.
About possibility of Governor rule in NWFP, he said that they know there was possibility of the governor rule in the province but clarified that they were ready to render every kind of sacrifices for end of President Musharraf's role.
