A two-day workshop on housing finance in Islamic Banking organised by Al-Huda Centre of Islamic Banking and Islamic Economics was concluded here on Friday. The workshop was aimed at introducing Islamic banking in housing finance sector.
A thorough discussion on diminishing Musharka and Istisna with reference to Islamic finance took place in the workshop, which is already being used by the Islamic banks.
Head of Islamic Banking of Prime Bank Mazhar Ali Bokhari, Mujeeb Baig of First Dowood Islamic Bank, Wapda Sukuk bonds Director Hammad Rasool, Mufti Shariah Advisor to Darul Uloom, Karachi, Iftikhar Baig, PCBL Product Manager Tayyab Raza and Al-Huda Centre of Islamic Banking Director Zubair Mughal read their research papers in the workshop.
Representatives dealing in housing finance from national and international organisations including International Housing Finance, House Building Finance Corporation, Baharia Town, Dubai Islamic Bank, Albarka Islamic Bank, Bahrain, Habib Metropolitan Bank, Prime Bank, First Dawood Islamic Bank, International Operator, Askari Commercial Bank, Islamic Banking, SKB Group and others attended the workshop. Presentation on finance and construction, Sukuk bonds was also arranged.
