Regis de Blente, the French Ambassador to Pakistan and Air Marshal Shahid Hamid (Retd.), Chairman Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) jointly inaugurated the first solar-powered car wash facility (SunWash) in Pakistan at Total Parco's Rising Sun filling station Rawalpindi.
Emmanuel Laurenty, CEO Total Parco Pakistan Ltd, (TPPL), Mujtaba Jaffery, Retail Marketing & Development Manager TPPL, Royston Abernethy, Retail Marketing &Sales Manager TPPL, Ingolf, Country Director GTZ, Ulrich Grabowski, Principal Advisor GTZ and the senior management of TPPL were also present on the occasion.
The Rawalpindi SunWash has many new technological enhancements owing to mutual co-operation agreement signed between Total Parco and GTZ in June 2006. GTZ, in collaboration with AEDB (Alternative Energy Development Board), will be imparting technical expertise to the local manufacturers and contractors for the efficient handling of Solar Water Heaters from the design stage right to the installation. GTZ will also supervise the TPPL network of solar powered car washes throughout Pakistan.-PR
