Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Sher Afgan Khan Niazi has said that the government would ensure implementation of Women Protection (WP) law and would not tolerate its violation in any part of the country.
He was talking to newsmen at 'Fiker-e-Sufia' seminar, organised by 'Qadri Noshai Silsla-e-Tasawaf at Alhamra Art Center here on Sunday.
He said that people opposing the law must study it before taking any position against it. To a question, the minister said bye-polls would be held on those seats of the parliament, which would get vacated in case any opposition member opt to resign.
He said that any member interested to resign from both the houses of the parliament could submit resignation to NA Speaker and Chairman Senate any time and there was no need to hold session of the respective house for this purpose.
MMA has repeatedly talked for resignations but they could not implement what they said, if they are still interested to resign I am here to assist them in getting their resignations approved", he added.
He said Islam dislikes those people who do not keep up their words and they are called as "kazib" in the Islamic dictionary.
Earlier, addressing the seminar the minister said there was neither any thing against Islam in Women Protection Bill nor any Muslim could dare to do any such thing.
He said that political and all other issues could only be solved if right course of action was adopted.
Punjab former chief minister, Mian Manzoor Wattoo said that 'Sufia-e-Karam' and 'Ulema-e-Uzam' promoted Islam in Sub-continent through love, patience and dedication.
Hakim Anayt Khan Qadri Noshahi presided over the seminar.
