Provincial government will spend Rs 840 million on seven model Rescue 1122 centres in Rawalpindi district to provide quick relief in case of mishap. These centres equipped with all modern facilities, to help eradicate crime and provide immediate medical aid to the people in case of road accidents/ emergencies, sources said on Monday.
These centres will be established at Murree Road, Rawalpindi, Lohi Bher, Chatter Park, Satra Meel, Chara Pani and Murree. The decision was made keeping in view the rising road accidents in the district, the sources said.
Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi had directed the Home Department to make arrangements to set up these centres in all districts of the Punjab to help people.
He said that the Rescue 1122 centres would be equipped with state of the part ambulances, first aid centres and latest communication gadgets to meet emergencies besides keeping a vigil on outlaws and bringing down the crime rate as well.
