Chairman National Commission for Government Reforms Dr Ishrat Hussain has urged the civil servants to work with good motives and full dedication to overcome the shortcomings and make the country's institutions more dynamic and vibrant.
He was speaking at a three-day National Workshop on Performance Evaluation of government servants began in Islamabad on Monday. It is being organised by Management Services Wing of the Establishment Division.
He said the civil servants should have clear objectives, provide level playing field to each other, maintain credibility, good relationship and achieve the required results to improve the present system for the benefit of the country.
About the reforms being brought in the government institutions, he said the process will be completed in five to ten years. He said the civil servants should identify the problems and use collective wisdom, which will be useful to bring reform in government institutions.
Dr Ishrat said the maintenance of transparency in appointment will produce better result. He advised them to broaden their minds to learn more others. To a question, he said all the decisions are being taken without external pressure in the best interest of the country and urged them to show self-confidence in themselves.
He said there should be no prejudices and biasness but integrity and competence of the officer concerned should be judged while evaluating the performance. About thirty officers from federal and provincial government including Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are participating in the workshop.
