The Pakistan People's Party, Punjab's leader and former Secretary General Rana Aftab Ahmed has vehemently condemned the Sindh chief minister over his remarks against PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto and said he had gone mad.
Talking to newsmen here on Saturday he said that Dr Arbab Rahim had lost his mental balance and he was declaring Benazir Bhutto as non-Sindhi and PPP would launch a drive against Arbab Rahim for his using harsh words for former premier Benazir Bhutto.
He said that Pakistani nation wanted Benazir as the future prime minister of Pakistan.
"The intention of giving insensible statements was to ruin peace and political stability in the country. Rulers wanted to postpone elections scheduled to be held in 2007," he said. Rana said: "Arbab should remember the fate of General Ziaul Haq and apologise for his statement.
Otherwise, Sindh People's Youth and Women's wing activists will cordon the Chief Minister's House," he said.
He said the Women Protection Act was a worthless law because the government was not sincere in protecting the rights of the women.
He slammed Arbab Rahim's remarks against the PPP chairperson and also lashed out at President Pervez Musharraf for his remarks against Mukhtaran Mai.
