National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (Navtec) in collaboration with Balochistan Institute of Skill Development and Technical Education, Quetta, will launch model skills training programme in construction sector in the provincial headquarter on February 26 to enhance the skills of educated unemployed youth.
According to a press release issued here on Sunday, besides payment of Rs 1000 per month, Navtec will also bear the training expenses of all course participants.
Free boarding and lodging facilities will also be provided to those participants who are out of Quetta.
The basic requirements of the participant of the course would be Primary/middle pass having age between 18 to 35 years.
Training courses are of four months duration and include auto mechanic, auto electrician, welder, machinist, home appliances, concrete surveyor, steel fixer & scaffolding, and machinery operator. The model training programme also includes dress designing for women. Altaf Saleem, Chairman, Navtec, in his remarks said that the courses would generate opportunities for the educated youth of Balochistan to get jobs in the booming construction sector. "Enhancing the skills increases job would bring the youth of Balochistan into the mainstream economy of Pakistan, he added.
Chairman Navtec also reiterated the commitment to provide every possible support to the Balochistan province for realigning technical education and vocational training according to the market needs.
