Former provincial minister industries, President All Pakistan Textile Manufacturers Association (APTMA). member central board of governors State Bank of Pakistan and Chairman Aziz Group of Industries, Mohsin Aziz, has expressed regret about the statement appearing in a section of the press against the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
In a statement issued in Peshawar on Tuesday he said that SCCI was the apex body of industry and commerce in the NWFP and looked after the interests of industry and commerce without a tilt towards any particulars group.
He said, it was this laudable role played by the SCCI, in particular in the recent past and today, that had insured the protection and advancement of the interests of the industrialists and traders, irrespective of their size, standing and importance in their respective fields.
Fair and transparent elections held in a most democratic way had been the hallmark of SCCI in the recent past, said Mohsin Aziz., industrialists and traders became such disgruntled elements could not get the selfish projection and undue influence they desired. He maintained that the onward march towards the goal of progress and prosperity of industry and trade alike was going on.-PR
