Directorate of Industries, Government of Sindh, is conducting Census of Manufacturing Industries for the year 2005-2006 under Industrial Statistics Act 1942. According to this Act, it is mandatory for all manufacturing units registered under Factories Act, 1934 to furnish the required information in the prescribed proforma.
The Act provide heavy penalties for non-submission of the return which may extend to Rs 20,000/- and in case of continuing offence with a further fine which may extend to Rs 800/- for each day after the first month during which the offence continue.
Blank CMI forms for the year 2005-2006 have already been despatched to the concerned units of Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur Division in the month of November 2006. Those who have not received these forms are advised to collect the same form the Mr Roshanuddin Laghari, Chief Statistician or Mr Saghir Hussain Bhojani, Statistical Officer, Directorate of Industries Government of Sindh, Block 22 Sindh Sectt; 4-A, or from the office of Deputy Director of Industries Hyderabad and Sukkur region and submit the same before 15th February 2007 failing which legal action will be taken as per rules.
