Principal Officer US Consulate in Lahore, Bryan D Hunt, on Sunday urged upon the Pakistani students to acquire skills up to professional level in commerce, business and technical sectors to contribute significantly to the national economy.
"Students' tendency to acquire education and training in commerce and business and availability of such facilities in an area like Khanewal is heartening and appreciable," said the official of US Consulate in Lahore after getting a briefing from administration of government college of commerce here. "The government deserves commendation for making available technical education facilities in such areas," he added.
Chairman District Management, Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta), Khanewal, Faisal Imam, said Tevta was also offering education and training to students in agriculture sector, says an official release. District Manager Tevta Engineer Muhammad Mohsin and college principal gave briefing to the US consulate official about contributions being made by Tevta and the college in imparting technical education to students.
Earlier, Bryan D Hunt also visited different sections of government college of commerce, government vocational training institute for women, and government technical training institute.
