Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has said that ministers are not taking interest in the National Assembly proceedings. Talking to private TV channel on Sunday.
Abbasi pointed out that Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Sher Afgan said several time that all ministers could not be brought into the assembly and suggested that the parliament should be conducted on proper way.
He said that majority of treasury bench MNAs belonging to feudal families were ignoring the assembly's proceeding, adding that he lodged 2000 questions, 119 motions and 19 bills in the assemblies so far.
Hanif Abbasi hoped resignations issue would be resolved at the MMA Supreme Council meeting. About President's power about assembly dissolution, he noted that there was no need of it because President and the Army Chief was the same person at the moment, which is not a democracy. The MMA MNA claimed that the government would reduce the petroleum products near general elections to get political benefit.
