Former Governor of Punjab Malik Gulam Mustafa Khar had suggested that Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) should be converted into an election alliance. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said by forming this alliance, the present rulers could be effectively dealt in coming elections in the country.
Referring to present rulers as incompetent, Khar said masses had lost faith in politicians and the political environment was not feasible at present and politicians must regain trust of masses.
Khar averring on next elections stated that these could be delayed in the country. He hinted at imposition of emergency in the country and delay of election by one-year period. He said that if opposition parties did not formulate an effective strategy then federation could be endangered.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of PPPP Ghulam Abbas said that in a letter of President Musharraf to Punjab Government, he had asked for action against politicians responsible in illegal occurrences. He said in fact this was no confidence against the provincial government at the top level. He asked the authorities to immediately take action against ruling party ranks that were involved in running gambling dens and other illegal activities.
