In line with its objective to inculcate a spirit of volunteerism amongst its staff, Citigroup, in liaison with Fatimid Foundation organised a blood camp at its Head Office in Karachi. More than 65 volunteers donated generously towards this noble cause.
The blood donated will be used to treat adults and children suffering from 'Thalassaemia' and 'Haemophilia', blood disorders that require frequent transfusions. Dr Saghir A Shaikh, director at Fatimid said, "It is overwhelming to see this kind of voluntary support-we were contacted by Citigroup to arrange this, ordinarily it is the other way round.
My congratulations to Citigroup on encouraging community service and that too on company time." A volunteer at the bank said "these opportunities are an excellent way for us to come together and do something for those less fortunate. I speak for all of us here, when I say we're happy to be a part of this drive and look forwards to participating in similar volunteer efforts in future."-PR
