Pakistan Muslim League (N) acting parliamentary leader, Nisar Ali Khan, and other leaders were prevented from meeting Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. The PML (N) delegation comprising Nisar Ali Khan, Senator Mahtab Ahmad Khan, Mushahidullah Khan and several others, was not allowed by police to meet with the non-functional CJP at his residence on Sunday.
Talking to newsmen, Nisar said that it was their basic right to meet with non-functional CJP, but they were prevented to meet with him, which was open violation of human rights.
He claimed that heavy contingent of police entered the CJ home early in the morning at 3 am on Sunday and harassed his family members. He noted that the CJ's son was ill but medical treatment was not being provided to him, and added that his children were being prevented from continuing their educational actives.
The PML (N) leader went on to say that the government's measures had maligned the judiciary. He demanded of the government to repeal its order about CJ's detention, and said that all opposition parties would protest, inside and outside the Assemblies, against the rulers' action against the judiciary. He said that the PML (N) would actively participate in the political parties' conference convened by Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) president, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, to chalk out joint strategy against the rulers' action.
Nisar said that PML (N) has fully supported the lawyers' organisations' protest against the suspension of the CJ. He claimed that the tutors of CJ's children were not being allowed to go his residence.
