Sharjah Airport International Free (SAIF) Zone is a fast emerging industrial estate in the region where trading, services, aviation and other industries are growing rapidly, said Humaid Al-Khatri, leader of the SAIF delegation here on Thursday.
"A total 3099 licenses have been issued to 2809 companies from 91 countries in the zone during the last 12 years. Pakistan is the second biggest country whose businessmen have invested in the Zone having international standard facilities," he said while addressing the road show organised by SAIF Zone here at a local hotel to attract the Pakistani business community.
Dr Hasan Sarosh Akram, president, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), was the chief guest. He said the SAIF Zone offers excellent opportunities to Pakistani businessmen willing to excel in the highly competitive and challenging atmosphere as regional trade and co-operation are becoming essential to face the new global challenges. So it is the time that we should come forward and strengthen our trade and economic relations for the prosperous future," he said.
Khatri said Sharjah is an emerging industrial state accounting for close to 50 percent of the industrial activities in the UAE with 15 percent growth rate per annum. He invited the Pakistani businessmen to invest in the SAIF Zone.
Addressing on the occasion, the RCCI president Dr Hasan Sarosh Akram said Sharjah is an emerging business hub of the region and provides tremendous infrastructure and strategic location.
Pakistani entrepreneurs have to learn about the latest developments taking place in the world to cope with the WTO challenges, he observed. Earlier, Mohsin Qureshi, senior marketing and sales officer of the SAIF Zone briefed the businessmen about the opportunities available in the SAIF Zone.
