Chairman National Engineering and Scientific Commission (Nescom) Dr Samar Mubarakmand has said our scientific community is achieving milestones and now country stands high in the comity of nations.
He was addressing at the declamation contest on "My Vision of a Progressive and Dynamic Pakistan" held under the auspices of Federal Directorate of Education to mark Pakistan Day celebrations here at Islamabad Model College F/7-4 for Girls on Saturday.
He said "I can see very bright and excellent future of Pakistan as we have no dearth of talent and passion for hard work in the present lot of students." Chairman Nescom said it is important to lead country towards the path of progress and prosperity. Eulogising the contributions of scientists and engineers he said we have been able to develop nuclear and missile technology indigenously in a very short span of time.
"And now whole world looks towards us enviably as now we have also attained the most sophisticated and advanced cruise missile technology," he added. Dr Samar further said Pakistan has become the third cruise missile capable country in the world after the successful test fire of missiles.
He said country's capability in missile technology has made its defence impregnable. He said our missile series excelled due to incorporation of latest technology and it is far superior to our neighbouring country.
He went on to say that our scientists and engineers with limited resources have made the country's defence strong. The number of scientists increased manifold in recent years, are working day and night to serve the country, he added.
He informed that six state-of-the-art excellence centres have been working in the country to develop technology related projects. Dr Samar urged the students to pursue their academic goals with full dedication for the better and bright future of the country. He asserted that integrity, honesty and hard work were keys to success and the student's community should always give priority.
Director General Federal Directorate of Education Brigadier Maqsoodul Hassan (Retd) also addressed the function. He also gave away cash awards and certificates to winners of declamation contest. Naeema Anwar got the first prize while Waqas Nadeem and Malik Hafeez Riaz received the second and third prizes respectively.
