One of the most anticipated Hollywood movies of 2017 is soon to hit theatres on March 17, 2017 and has already been declared hit with projections from various sources busting past $120M. The live-action adaptation of 'Beauty and the Beast' will reportedly bring booming business to the early 2017 box office.
The movie, which stars Emma Watson as Belle, is tracking for a massive $120 million opening according to The Hollywood Reporter. Disney is being more cautious with that high number, and don't want to step on their own toes. They are downplaying the monster potential of this Beauty and her Beast, claiming it will open just north of $100 million. They want keep the expectations down.
According to foreign media reports, the movie has the advance sales-intensity normally seen on superhero tent poles. And buzz among exhibitors who've seen the movie is through the roof. 'Beauty and the Beast' is the #3 most anticipated films of 2017 in Fandango's annual survey behind 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2'.
The entire cast from Disney's live-action movie, including Emma Watson, Dan Stevens and Luke Evans continued their way through Europe and attended a gala screening of the film in London last evening.
The movie will open in theaters on March 17 and will go up against 'Logan', 'Kong: Skull Island' and 'Power Rangers' in the same month.
