Nokia 3310 is back; Here's what it looks like
The updated version of Nokia 3310 is back and took internet by storm. The famed, indestructible Nokia phone has been re-launched in an all new revamped look featuring a colour screen at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
The new Nokia 3310 is sleeker comes in different bright colours. The phone is expected to come with Bluetooth and an app store. However, the availability and the price of the phone is still not announced. The company has also included its iconic snake game with a twist.
The re-launched 3310 is produced by new mobile firm HMD Global, which licensed the Nokia brand last year. HMD has promised that the new Nokia 3310 will give the same feel and durability as it was a decade ago.
It is about half the thickness of the original and has 10 times the talk time, with 22 hours, and twice the standby time: one month a duration almost unheard-of in 2017. Having a 2.4-inch display, the new Nokia 3310 qualifies as a feature phone rather than a smartphone as it only provides limited internet facilities.
HMD said the phone would be released in the second quarter of the year.
Launched in 2000, Nokia's original 3310 sold nearly 120 million units worldwide before it was discontinued in 2005, making it one of the world's best-selling mobile phones. Analysts said resurrecting the popular model was a clever way for HMD Global to re-launch Nokia's brand. Other than Nokia 3310, the company has also announced three new smartphones Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6.
