Shaheen Air International, the second national carrier of Pakistan, has purchased its seventh Boeing 737 that arrived at Karachi airport. The airlines, spokesman Farooq Khan informed that the newly purchased aircraft has been registered in Pakistan as AP-BJI and has the seating capacity of 120 passengers.
He said that with a fleet of seven self-owned Boeing 737 aircraft, Shaheen Air has robust plans to expand its flight frequencies swiftly. In a short span of time the airline's weekly flights between Karachi-Lahore will boost to 42, Karachi-Islamabad 42, Karachi-Peshawar 14, Karachi-Multan 14, Karachi-Dubai 28, Lahore-Dubai 14 and Peshawar-Dubai will be 14.
Flights to Abu-Dhabi, Al-Ain, Doha Kuwait, Muscat and Quetta would also be increased. The airline is also considering to start operations to Nawabshah, Sukkur, Rahimyar Khan, Faisalabad, Sialkot and socio-economic/tertiary routes in order to bridge domestic network across Pakistan.
Farooq said that the airline's incessant expansion in fleet and network would not only open more vistas in the arena of passenger, cargo and charter services, in the regional markets but also provide affordable fares to the passengers and create more jobs in Pakistan.
