Pakistan State Oil, the largest oil marketing company in Pakistan, has partnered with Telenor Pakistan the second largest and fastest growing cellular network of Pakistan in establishing connectivity between the pump controllers at its New Vision retail outlet network across country and PSO head office through customised GPRS solution.
The contract was signed by Jalees Ahmed Siddiqi, Managing Director and CEO, PSO, and Sigvart Voss Eriksen, CMO/Vice President Commercial, Telenor Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Jalees Ahmed Siddiqi said that, being at the forefront of retail transformation and automation, PSO has adopted technology to ensure real-time flow of data from the fuel-dispensing units to PSO head office.
The data comprises complete transaction history at the pump controllers as well as information from connected equipment such as Auto Tank Gauging System, POS Terminal, Dispensing Units, Auto Price Change Units, Incident and Breakdown Alarms, etc.
Commenting on the agreement, Telenor Pakistan's Chief Marketing Officer & Vice President Commercial Sigvart Voss Eriksen said, "One of Telenor Pakistan's key focus areas has been to add value to the businesses it serves. In the same spirit, we are proud to partner with PSO. By providing quality solutions to their business needs, we are confident that our relationship will take industrial use of telecommunications to a new level of excellence."
Sigvart Voss Eriksen emphasised that Telenor Pakistan's integrated solution for end-to-end secured connectivity based on CIS applications will enable PSO to bring in real-time data round-the-clock from its retail network. This would result in improved business process, greater service reliability and data security.
