The efforts being made to control crimes, and the obtaining law and order was reviewed at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan here on Friday.
The governor took strict notice of violence against media personnel during a lawyer's rally taken out here and asked the concerned authorities to take action in this regard and ensure an environment in which the journalists could perform their professional duties without any hindrance.
Ibad made it clear that the government believes in freedom of expression and the freedom enjoyed by media today was never available in the past. Taking stock of law and order maintenance, the governor directed the authorities to further strengthen the measures to ensure normal activities of life.
He pointed out that today activities are taking place in every field, and these are the results of collective and continued efforts made during the last few years.
