National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain has highlighted the government's efforts to accelerate the pace of economic development in the country.
Speaking as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of three-day Jashn-e-Sialkot here on Friday, he referred to the numerous mega projects, initiated by the government, he said the accomplishment of those jumbo projects would create far-reaching effects on the national economy, as a result of which the country would enter the comity of developed nations.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain further stated that due to the effective and strong polices of the government, the national economy had not only become stable, but the development growth rate was much higher, indicating a bright future.
Laudable Sialkot's contribution to the development of the country, he said the leather, surgical and sports goods industries were playing an instrumental role in the economic development of the country.
The National Assembly Speaker was of the opinion that provision of recreational facilities to the industrial workers was direly needed because such facilities would help enhance the capacity of productivity of the workers.
The provision of sports and recreational facilities would protect the younger generation from addiction, perversion and negative activities and help develop healthy society in the country, he added.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain further stated that the government was committed to promote sports and local culture in the country and holding of Jashn-e-Sialkot would endorse polices of the government. He called upon other Tehsils Nazims of Sialkot district to arrange such recreational events in their respective areas.
The Speaker was of the opinion that sports and other festivals would help generate investment opportunities as well as attract foreign investors. Earlier, Sialkot Tehsil Nazim Imtiaz Dar presented the address of welcome and highlighted salient features of Jashn-e-Sialkot.
